Get results within weeks with the highest levels of accuracy and detail. Our process allows exploration of many urban variants, examining which design performs best for wind comfort and safety.

Powered by Cloud Computing
Streamline your wind analysis with DGMR & OMRT's innovative approach. Leveraging the power of cloud computing, our wind simulations (CFD Studies) allow for comprehensive design evaluations at a fixed cost with reduced computational requirements. This enables you to study more than one design at a time while we keep the energy consumption and cost an all-time low.
How does it work?
The process for a wind study can be broken down into four easy steps:
Step 1

Reach out to us by filling in the form above.
Step 2

One of our engineers will reach out to you to determine the best solution for your project. Your quotation follows digitally.
Step 3

Press start by signing the contract. After your project intake consultation, sit back and let us do the rest.

Step 4

Within 5 working days, you will be presented with the results in our online platform. Finally, a permit proof report can be requested from DGMR.
FAQ's
-
When should I use this service? There are numerous instances where a wind study can bring value to a project. Wind studies are traditionally very costly and time-consuming, so are often conducted as late as possible during the design process. However, as OMRT have standardised and exponentially accelerated the process, we can keep costs low and execute analyses faster. This opens the door to conducting wind analyses as soon as a building silhouette is being determined within a context. This can be either during the early sketch design phase or preliminary designs.
-
What does the DGMR and OMRT collaboration mean?DGMR has been in the field of building physics for many years and has built a great knowledge and experience base. OMRT has existed for five years and uses the newest technological advancements to combine these with expert knowledge. Together, DGMR and OMRT have partnered up to create a fast and accurate wind analysis tool. If you request a project, the engineers from OMRT will start the process and the engineers from DGMR make sure that the results are useful and valid.
-
How long will the process take to complete for my project? After the project intake is completed (see Step 3), we aim to deliver the results on the OMRT Hub within 5-10 working days. The results on the Hub can be directly accessed by clients at all times. Results can be easily used in meetings with municipalities and other stakeholders as needed.
-
Can I use the wind study to file a building design permit?Absolutely. The simulation model is tested according to the Dutch national standard (NEN8100). It uses the twelve wind directions to simulate your 3D model and the output has been verified many times.
-
What is the process for a wind study? Our process is broken down into 5 steps. We work fast and offer turnaround time of 1-3 weeks, depending on project variables. You can read more above.
-
How will I receive the results of the study? All results will be presented in a user friendly interface on the OMRT Hub. You can sign in within any browser, and your (free) account details will be provided to you. Within the platform, you can easily see your visualisations rendered in 3D. Additionally, OMRT or DGMR can deliver a PDF report for further sharing to other stakeholders. The report will include all legal requirements to use as a full wind report for permit-level checks on any design.
-
What is the price of the wind study? We offer highly competitive pricing in the Dutch market. We operate using fixed prices. If significant extra time is needed to prepare your 3D model, there may be some additional costs. Feel free to fill in the form or contact us to get a quotation. Our prices are all-inclusive. Both DGMR and OMRT's work is priced together.
-
What is the meaning of "single study" or "variant study"? Which one is best for my project?A single study means that we calculate the twelve wind directions on your project as you give it to us. You simply provide us with the 3D model of your building design and we calculate the results. A variant study allows us to study multiple designs in parallel. We conduct analyses based on dozens of potential variants for your design. We can choose key design elements to set as variables, and test each of them on all twelve wind directions. We leverage the power of parametric design to benefit from economies of scale in our computation. If you are in the early design phase, a variant study can create a lot of value. You have the freedom to analyse the wind impact on dozens of potential designs at a time, creating new insights and helping reduce overall project costs.
-
What is the technology behind your solution?Based on our own Olysis technology, OMRT employs heavy duty servers to run multiple wind simulations in parallel. The outputs of the algorithm are then checked and validated by DGMR. OMRT's smart geometrical algorithms take your building's 3D model as input, so that the meshes are prepared for wind analysis. We compute intense algorithms with the assistance of the latest innovations in cloud computing.
